BALASORE: Research and Defense Development Organizations and the Indian Air Force team managed to test long-term (LR) bombs developed accidentally from the air platform here on Friday, the source of defense.
LR bombs after the release of the IAF fighter aircraft are guided by accuracy to land-based targets within the specified limit.
All the purpose of the mission was fulfilled, they said.
BOM flights and performance are monitored by a number of coverage sensors, including electrical optical tracking systems, telemetry and radar mobilized by the integrated test range in Chandipur in Odisha, the sources said.
The LR bomb has been designed and developed by the Imarry Research Center (RCI) in Hyderabad coordinating with other Drdo laboratories.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has congratulated DRDO, IAF, and other teams related to successful flight trials and stated that this would be proven to be an Indian style multiplier for the Indian armed forces.
Secretary of DDR & D and Drdo Chairperson, G Satheesh Reddy in his message to the team said that a successful flight test from a distance bomb was an important milestone in the development of this system of this system accidentally.
