Remove unauthorized snacks: Delhi HC

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court Thursday directed Delhi and North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NRDMC) police to drive to remove all illegal vendors and vendors of the No-Hawking Chandni Chowk and Subhash Marg zone here.
Judge Judge Vipin Sanghi and Jasmet Singh came after reading several photos submitted by Chowk Sarv Vyapar Mandal which showed illegal and illegal hawking activities carried out at Chandni Chowk and Subhash Marg.
The court asked the Police Station Sho of Kotwali and Deputy Commissioner of NRDMC to drive and submit actions taken in a week.
The court was hearing a request by Chandni Chowk Sarv Vyapar Mandal, represented through senior advocate Sanjeev Ralli and lawyer Mohit Mudgal, looking for direction to the authorities to remove illegal vendors and vendors from the no-hawking area and without squatting in Chandni Chowk, who recently recently undergo rebuilding.
The previous High Court said that anyone who penetrated public space must be removed and cannot be allowed that all sidewalks on the market are covered with irritating space to walk.
It also asked the city corporation to prepare street sales plans.
“They cannot be allowed that the entire sidewalk is covered with shrimp and makes people impossible to walk.
Please, please for the sake of God to do planning and not make communication at the last moment,” said the High Court, adding that the NRDMC seems to have no urgency to formulate so the activity Hawking can be arranged.
It also directed Delhi’s police to positively take steps on the installation of CCTV cameras in the Chandni Chowk area before 28 February, failed obtained by Police Commissioner Delhi will still be present before that.
Have said trying to fill the void in the law, street vendors acted, and added that it did not want all these poor people to be encouraged but things must be done correctly with plans.
The court has directed that experts nominated from the Shahjanabad Redevelopment Corporation, Delhi School of Planning, and IIT Delhi immediately without delay in this case related to the preparation of the street seller’s plan.
It also asked Delhi police to take steps to eliminate illegal encroachment and vendors from the area and direct the police and North MCD to continue with their anti-encroachment drive.
Ralli has submitted that even though there are repeated directions in court, Delhi police have not installed 330 CCTV cameras in the area to examine encroachment in the area and the route and this has become a casual approach from the authorities.
The court previously observed that there was no executive or political will for eliminating illegal vendors and vendors from the streets and except Lutyens’ Delhi, there was no place in a clear city of illegal wild residents.
