Noida: National Green Tribunal (NGT) has given a two-week Noida to clean up encroachment in about five hectares of green belts and parks in sector 48.
NGT has been in 2018 asking for authority to clear encroachment in the area.
But a group of residents moved the green panel again on January 5 this year, allegating that the authority did not take concrete steps according to previous directions.
On January 21, The Green Tribunal gave a two-week authority to clear encroachment.

On August 14, 2018, that NGT had asked for authority to restore the green area.
Residents claim that authorities only take partial action.
“It’s just eyewash.
There are no concrete steps taken despite repeated appeals,” Goel said.
Furthermore, on January 5 this year, residents again moved NGT, looked for obedience to the 2018 direction.
“NGT controls the residents again by asking noida authorities to clean the area in two weeks,” Goel said.
Ask about NGT’s command, a senior authority official said, “File encroachment in Sector 48 has been sent to the land department for verification.
We need to make sure the land is under the area of ​​authority that is notified.
The suitable actions will be taken after that.”
