Reopen Delhi’s school from next month, Panel said

New Delhi: The expert committee formed by Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has suggested the reopening of schools in Delhi for all classes gradually from next month after significant improvement in the Covid-19 situation.
The committee has suggested that the process staggered.
In the first phase, a higher class must be reopened, followed by the middle class and finally the primary class.
Class IXTH students to Xiith are likely to be called first, maybe in the first week of September, with a 50% stamp on the numbers.
The panel has proposed that parents must have the choice to choose online classes, rather than physical, for their children, the source said.
This means hybrid forms provide lessons that need to be adjusted to the school.
The final decision on the reopening of the school will be taken at the DDMA meeting next week when considering this report.
If advice is received, the date of possibility can be announced.
Will be reopened, obviously, occurs with a strict Covid protocol such as wearing masks, social distance, hand washing, etc.
for children so they remain safe from Covid.
Schools need to follow several standard operating procedures that will be prescribed, said source.
The committee has been formed on August 6 with officials from the Ministry of Education and Health as its members.
Deputy CM Sisodia Manish has told the DDMA meeting that the majority of parents who emerged for meetings of parents in Delhi government schools wanted them to be reopened.
DDMA, then, allows the reopening of the school for class X students to XII for the practice and work of the project with the approval of parents.
The response has so far been mixed.
The main concern is that school students have not been vaccinated which makes them vulnerable to being infected by Covid-19.
Meanwhile, Minister of Justice Arvind Kejriwal said on Wednesday that the government wanted to reopen the school at the beginning but ensured that no risk would be taken in the health of students.
“There has been a mixed experience in other states and we currently monitor the situation.
We don’t want to risk where children are involved.
We want to reopen the early schools and whenever the decision on it is taken, we will tell you , “he told reporters on the sidelines of an event.
While almost all economic activities were allowed to continue in the capital, the Delhi government had moved very carefully at the reopening of the school.
It has been looking for feedback from students, teachers, parents and other stakeholders about the reopening of schools and other educational institutions.
The move has raised an encouraging response with the government receiving more than 35,000 suggestions.
About 68% want school to be reopened.
Schools and other educational institutions in the city are still closed due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic in March 2020 and online class has become the norm.
An expert committee suffered under the National Institute of Disaster Management recently submitted its report to the PMO warning of the third Covid wave which will soon occur in October and seek better preparedness for children who might be at the same risk of people mature.
The vulnerability of children because they have not been vaccinated have been discussed with most experts their views are not susceptible to severe infections even though they can pass through the virus to others.
Some countries recently reopened schools and educational institutions, mostly for higher classes, because the covid-19 situation was overall controlled in most countries.
