Reopen school for girls our responsibilities, not world pressure: Taliban

Kabul: The government led by the Taliban in Afghanistan said that sustaining schools for girls throughout the country is their responsibility and not because of the pressure of the world.
The statement was made by Minister of Acting Maulaee Noorullah Muneer during his meeting with Deborah Lyons, a special representative of the UN Secretary General told Afghanistan, here on Thursday, Khaama Press reported.
Muneer said that getting education is the right of a girl and the Taliban government has the responsibility to provide it.
Taliban officials have announced that higher schools for girls and state universities for boys and girls will be reopened in the next year of education which began in March.
At least 150 state universities for boys and girls and all public schools for girls remain closed since the country’s takeover by the Taliban in August 2021.
Earlier this month, the Minister of Higher Education of Taliban Abdul Baqi Haqqani has announced that universities throughout the country for students Men and women will be reopened, but the class will be separated for boys and girls.
However, he did not mention the date of reopning.
