Reopen the NTC factory, let’s say trade unions

Coimbatore: Looking for steps to reopen all 23 National Textile Corporation (NTC) factories in this country, union members protest in front of the South Tahsildar office here on Wednesday.
Mills was closed during the Covid-19 outbreak in March 2020.led by Sachin Mohan Ahir, Chair, Save NTC Movement, which is the Federation of 23 trade unions, looking for the resurrection of the factory.
There are seven NTC factories in Tamil Nadu and five are in the district.
He said more than 20,000 workers were influenced by factory closure and many of them had not received a 50% salary as guaranteed by the government.
“On the one hand, the center promised to increase work.
But it refused to reopen the NTC factory.
The government must avoid plans to privatize the factory and reopen them.
If not, we will protest in front of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence in Ahmedabad,” He said.
Coimbatore Lok Sabha MP Natarajan said the workers would lift the black flag in front of their home on January 26 as part of the ongoing protest.
“The black flag will be appointed in factories, in addition to performing sit-ins.” He said they would meet the prime minister during the budget session and urged him to take steps to reopen the factory.
Union members from the factory in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh took part in protests.
