PATNA: Chief Union (CM) Nitish Kumar on Sunday requested the state government officials to perform pre-flood functions remembering the suggestions offered by the chosen people’s representatives and ensure recovery of damaged bridges and roads from June 15 this season.
Chairing a high level assembly to assess the state administration’s preparedness for flooding in the aftermath of numerous proposals received from other MPs, MLAs and MLCs, through videoconferencing from’Sankalp’ hallway at his home, Nitish explained his administration’s top priority is to give necessary help and safety to the affected individuals throughout the flooding.
He explained the tips offered by the chosen representatives ought to be considered when implementing the ant-erosion and flooding fighting functions in the various areas.
The CM mentioned four branches — water resources division (WRD), small water resources division (MWRD), rural functions division (RWD) and street building division (RCD) — held division-wise meetings with all the various MPs, MLAs and MLCs via videoconferencing from May 13 to 21 to search their own ideas about the flooding fighting functions.
He said that the public’s representatives gave quite valuable suggestions about the flooding fighting functions in these meetings.
“The tips offered by the public’s representatives will assist the branches in formulating their potential strategies for flood protection,” Nitish mentioned and requested the officials of four branches to remember the suggestions offered by MPs, MLAs and MLCs while finalising the flooding safety schemes of their individual regions/constituencies.
In addition, he requested the officers to guarantee recovery of damaged roads, bridges and culverts from June 15 to a priority basis.
“Additionally ensure appropriate maintenance of roads and bridges,” the CM said, including quality of functions should also be preserved.
He requested the WRD officials to finish the strengthening and interrogate functions of unique embankments ahead of the advent of monsoon from the nation.
“All of the continuing anti-erosion and flood protection works must be finished shortly,” Nitish advised that the officials.
The CM further requested the RCD and the RWD officials to maintain a particular vigil on all streets crossing throughout the flood-affected locations.
The officers were asked to establish a special drive to wash all the bridges and culverts prior to the advent of monsoon.
