Chandigarh: To check illegal sand mining and make sure the sand is sold at the level set by the state government at Rs 5.50 per cubic foot, Minister Punjab Chararjit Singh Channi on Thursday is directed at the Mining site.
He also asked the deputy commissioner to declare Rs 25000 prize if the evidence provided in the video or other form of violating the norm in this matter.
Giving a meeting with Deputy Commissioner and SSP, Channi said that the level of distance from each mining site to the final destination point will be decided by each deputy commissioner.
Furthermore, it is also directed at ensuring that if there is a Panchayat village wanting sand, they must be given the same freedom of the mining site.
There is no fee that must be collected from a trolley that carries sand and the only truck that must be charged Rs 5.50 per cubic foot, Channi said.
Channi emphasizes the need to increase the number of legal sites and start the site previously closed.
He also appreciated the efforts made by Ludhiana Regency, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Mohali and Ropar in this matter.
He said there was no political intervention in this matter to be tolerated because he was determined to carry out hard crackdown in the perpetrators who spoiled illegal sand mining.
