Ghaziabad: The entry of heavy vehicles to Delhi from Ghaziabad and Noida will be banned for two days given the Republic of the Republican parade exercises, officials said on Thursday.
According to the police, security has also been estimated along the Delhi-up border after Intel on the possibility of a terror attack.
In accordance with advisors, heavy vehicles will not be permitted in Delhi from five border points on January 23 and January 26.
“The Republican Day training parade will be held in Delhi on January 23 so that heavy vehicles will not be allowed to enter Delhi from all Ghaziabad’s borders from 10pm on January 22 to 1.30 in the afternoon on January 23.
Meanwhile, the entry of heavy vehicles will be closed starting at 10 Night on 25 to 1.30 in the afternoon on January 26, “Ramanand Kushwaha, SP (traffic).
The five border points that connect Ghaziabad to Delhi, according to advisors, are NH-9 and NH-24 through the gate up, Dabur T-Point through Maharajpur, Mohannagar to Border, and Loni Border.
Kushwaha added that heavy vehicle operators must use an alternative route to avoid discomfort.
“All commercial vehicles to Punjab, Haryana or Rajasthan are advised to take EFTER Peripheral Expressway (EPE) during the restrictions period,” SP said.
Gautam Budh Nagar police have also issued the same advisor, limiting the movement of commercial vehicles from three border points – Chilna Red Light, DND Flyway and Kalandi Kunj – to Delhi.
Republican day parade exercises are currently taking place in Delhi since January 17.
Meanwhile, in front of the Republican Day and the election of the State Assembly, Ghaziabad police have increased security.
“Our personnel have been deployed at strategic and picket points have increased to inspect vehicles that examine anti-sabotage in crowded places and markets are being carried out together with the verification of tenants to maintain strict vigilance to prevent any unward incident,” senior police supervisor, said Pawan Kumar.
