Panaji: All the Republicans of India on Sunday extended their support for Congress in his struggle to elect the BJP government in the election of upcoming assembly.
The president of Congress of Goa Girish Chodankar said that, in Goa, all the Republicans of India had a presence in 16 constituencies and had active members, especially in Pernem, Mandrem, Tivim, Sivim and Aldona.
“After discussing with their national president, they agreed to work for our candidates,” Chodankar announced at a press conference, which was attended by all President of the Republic of India, Dyaneshwar Varkehandkar.
Varkey said they supported the Congress to defeat BJP.
“Congress is a secular party and always works for Goa people.” They have discussed their demands with Congress.
