Mangaluru: Mangalore University’s (MU) moved to schedule special examinations for all semesters simultaneously, without college consulting, has troubled students who appeared for the exam which began on Tuesday.
Students have asked the university to make the necessary changes in time special tests.
Special examinations are held for candidates who cannot appear for semester exams because of Covid-19 and related reasons.
Examination was held for the first semester candidate, second, third, fourth and fifth.
The bone fight is that all these semester examinations are put together.
Rajasshekar Hebbar, Principal of Pai Satish Pai Satish Pai College Class One, Car Street, said that currently the exam is held for candidates who cannot appear for examination because of Covid-19.
Along with them, the examination was also held for students who had deposits in the second semester examination.
“As a result, for example, a candidate has deposits in the second semester, and has not written the third semester exam because Covid, candidates will not be able to appear for both.
On Wednesday, we have three incidents like that, and the same thing has been known by MU officials, “He added.
A senior professor complains that MU allows only students who have Covid-19, and cannot appear for inspection, to appear for special examinations.
“However, it has not considered students, especially from Kerala, which cannot be traveled to their college because of travel restrictions.
Why not allow them to do special checks?” He asked.
P S Yadapitaya, Deputy Chancellor, University of Mangalore, said that the university would allow students who had felt uncomfortable to appear for inspection, during special examinations held for the sixth semester candidate.
