Prasagraj: A letter petition has been transferred before the High Court of Allahabad, looking for a Central Investigation Exchange (CBI) investigating the death of Mahant Narendra Giri, President Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad (ABAP).
Giri’s body was found hanging in the math room in Prayagraj on Monday.
The letter petition, written by the Lawyer of the Sunil Kumar High Court, has been sent via official justice email the main Court of Allahabad.
In his letter, the petition was sent on midnight Monday, the applicant has said that according to several news portals, a high ranking police officer and land mafia allegedly involved in this case.
In the letter, demand has been made to treat it as a litigation of public interest (pill).
It has also been asked to ensure a fair investigation into this case, the probe must be transferred to the CBI.
The applicant also asked the court to direct the state government to suspend district judges and senior police supervisors (SSP) from Prayagraj.
It was stated in a letter that the applicant was informed by several occupants of ‘Baghambari Gaddi’ that the reason behind the incident was a large number of financial abuse.
Further letters stated that when Mamahant was given security by the state government, how could such incidents.
