Panaji: Chairman of the Minister of Pramod Sawant on Monday said that the funds had been set aside by the Directorate of Higher Education (DHE) to help teachers pursue research in their area.
He said that, in the future, it would be ascertained that academic research was used to improve state administration.
Sawant spoke after presenting a state award in higher education to teachers from 2018 and so on.
“We celebrate the 60th year of Goa liberation and I feel we have to bridge the gap between academics and administration and bring them on one platform.
At present, they work individually.
I feel what is being done in academics must reflect the administration.
Dhe has made Provisions to provide funds for research in higher education.
If we take advantage of research findings in the administration, then it will help our future generation, “Sawant said.
Twenty teachers from college and the Goa University presented the state teacher award for excellence in higher education.
This award brings RS 1 Lakh cash prize, quotes and scarves.
For 2018-19, award was presented to B R Srinivasan, V V Kamat, Rekha Gaonkar, Vikas Pissurlekar, and Sr.
Aradhana.
The award for 2019-20 went to R G Gad, Savita Burk, Vidya Desai, Radhika Nayak and Rajan Mathew.
For 2020-21, the recipient of the award was M Janarthanam, Pranab Mukhopadhyay, Pravin Bhende, Vrinda Borrow and Sushila Sawant Mendes.
CM also congratulates DHE and college teachers to apply the Dishtavo program where youtube channels with hundreds of pre-recorded lessons have been uploaded to help students during a pandemic.
For 2021-22, the award-winning was the Kaustubh Priolkar, Jyoti Pawar, F M Nadaf, Sanjay Sawant Dessai, and Dilective D’Costa.
