Nagpur: The Avinash Thakre-LED panel who investigates the RS67 Lakh Bogus Scam contract has decided to approach the city police to investigate deviations in inviting tenders by all departments.
The leader of the Thakre Party told Tii, “the five panels were formed by the Mayor of Dayashankar Tiawari’s opinion that since the economic wing of the City Police (EOW) was investigating a fake scam contract related to the Ministry of Health, they could simultaneously investigate the contract given by other departments from Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) too.
“Even though NMC submitted complaints relating to false contracts, the administrative request panel led by the Supplementary City Commissioner Deepak Kumar Meena has signaled a similar error in another department as well as the first reported fraud and irregularities.

The unanimous decision for a detailed investigation on the tender in NMC was taken during the panel meeting on Thursday, which was attended by Thakre, opposition leader Tansaji Wanve, BSP Corporator Vaishali Narnawane, former Chair of the committee standing and former Sandeep Jadhav, and BJP Corporator and lawyer Sanjay Balpande.
Deputy Commissioner of Nirbhay Jain City also attended the meeting.
Halu said the panel planned to meet with the City Police Chief Amitesh Kumar for expanding the Ambit EOW investigation and covering all departments.
“However, followed Kumar’s painful health, we have sent a letter to the top police in this matter,” he added.
The panel also focused on retired Judge Shekhar Muley as one of the seven panel members formed by Tiwari.
In addition, the panel also empowers Jadhav to combine one auditor, said Thakre.
Jadhav has chosen around five retired auditors.
One of them will be completed in a few photocopies of documents and files sent by civil administration with EOW.
