Gurgaon: Electrical consumers in the city and all 21 Haryana districts will no longer pay their bills through Paytm’s wallet.
Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) has issued instructions in the notification last week that starting September, all payments made through Paytm will be considered invalid.
In terms of the amount that can be reduced, the department said it would not be responsible for refunds or adjustments to the bill next month.
While decisions announced by UHBVN, the electricity department has shown that new notifications will apply to consumers of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) in cities such as Gurgaon and Faridabad too.
According to officials, the department has decided to end the contract with Paytm because of the cost difference demanded by the company in lieu of bill payments.
“The company proposes an increase in processing the allegations that he levies on payment of electricity bills.
We reviewed the proposal and found it financially could not be used.
In the absence of a mutual agreement, we decided to end the contract,” said Chairman (Strength) and Chairperson of UHBVN PK Das.
He added that the department was open to continue the contract if Paytm continued with the old processing fee.
UHBVN has directed all sub-division officers from the department to spread consumulations among consumers about the move.
Officials have been asked to install banners that pay paytm payments will not be accepted in all money counters and also to send messages to consumers in this case through WhatsApp and SMS.
DHBVN officials said they made calls through their help channels to ensure there was no confusion among people.
However, some consumers objected to moving, saying it was a “sudden” change.
Others Toy spoke to show that it could cause a lot of confusion.
“It’s okay if they suspend the contract, but they have to give time to educate consumers about it.
Some people still get promotional messages about paytm payments.
Many users will continue and make a payment and then run the pillar to send to adjust it,” said Jitender Singh, a resident of sector 43.
