Except for important services such as milk booths and pharmacies, commercial companies are closed Cross Cut Road, road 100 feet, Gandhipuram, Jalan Oppanakara, Ramamurthy Road, Saramedu Salai, Rice Mill Road, NP ITTI Road, ElauithTam Junction and Thudiangur Junction.
“On Sunday, the streets will be jammed.
But the streets are quiet today.
Even though it is a loss for the business community, it is good for people in a health perspective,” said G Selvakumar, a driver of the Autorickshaw.
Although the main commercial area is closed, others witness normal activities.
People packed meat and fish stalls.
While social distance norms go for throws in such places, most people obey mask rules.
“We do not allow people without masks in stores, because it will affect other customers.
However, it is difficult to ensure the distance for customers does not follow it,” said a Fishmonger in Ganapatati.
Bus-buses are stunned as usual, but with limited number of passengers.
The bus terminal also witnessed a little crowd.
Some businessmen voluntarily closed their shops, although these areas were not brought based on intensive restrictions, to help Covid-19 District Administration.
Vegetal movements are a little low compared to Sundays and relatives who avoid visiting friends and relatives who visit because of fear of a pandemic.
