(By Pavan Kumar Pateel) Bengaluru: With a walk in the area they turned into a track, a resident of Medharahalli who was angry near the Dasarahalli on Saturday tried to wake civil officials from sleeping soundly by trying to grow rice in the middle of the road.
“How we attract the attention of BBMP officials who have closed the eyes to our road, where we cannot walk or drive,” said the residents while pointing to the muddy main road connecting Chikkabanavara and Medharahalli at the industrial center on the suburbs.
“This is a stretching condition for four years; it becomes slippery anytime it’s raining.
We are thinking of planting rice puppies to mark our protests,” added the population.
The road was broken in 2018 when BWSSB began putting a Cauvery water pipe and waste line on the main road.
The BBMP should immediately repair the road and make it a motorbike, but failed to do it.
Somashelar, a resident, said: “This is just a mere candidate in the official part and elected representative.” Vinod, another resident, said: “Civic body focuses only in certain areas, while we are only on paper for them.
When the road is not slippery, full of dust and pose a big risk for senior citizens and children.” Dasarahalli MLA ( JDS) Manjunath blames political equations for chaos.
“As long as the coalition government led by HD Kumaraswamy, RS 650 Crore was given to carry out construction work in the election.
But after the BJP regime took over, Rs 600 Crore was withdrawn.
I sent two representations to the CM BS Yediyurappa, but in vain.
I will Request CM Basavaraj Bommai to accelerate civil works.
“Residents said they would have a demonstration in front of the BBMP headquarters if the road was not repaired.
