Residents of the waste flag lying open; Pollution body says it will take action

Noida: Although the pollution department has asked local authorities to begin removing the waste lying along the way, residents have alleged that some stretches throughout the city still have garbage lying in the open.
They have said even though there are repeated complaints, the authorities do not respond or attract offenders.
“Along the two internal sector 112 roads, one can see construction material lying in the open.
We show this every year but there is no serious action taken,” said Amit Gupta, a sector 77 resident.
Construction and horticultural waste can also be seen in Along the way in sector 116, 51, 11 and 79.
Wisnu Saini, a sector 137, said: “NGT direction, such as maintaining construction and waste materials and controlling dust near the road, should be in a place for a year.
But local authorities Start sending notifications to violators only in October.
Even after that, most contractors do not follow the norm.
“There are some stretches where mechanical sweeping is done but only on one side of the main road.
In most sectors 7x, green patch has been made but dust accumulates right next to these places, residents have accused.
“What is the mechanical sweeping point if only half of the road is closed? I have complained to the authority several times about this, but nothing has been done,” Gupta added.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh pollution control officials (UPPCB official) said local authorities had been asked to record these problems in mid-October and remove waste.
“We have given them time to obey NGT orders.
If there are no actions taken, we must punish the parties involved,” said Utsav Sharma, regional officers, UPPCB.
