Residents oppose 25mW plant settings in bandhwari

Gurgaon: In public hearings on Tuesday, local residents, several groups of citizens and green activists against the MCG proposal to expand the capacity of the proposed energy waste plant (WTE) from 15 MW to 25 MW on the TPA Bandhwari website from Jalan Gurgaon-Faridabad .
The majority of those who have gathered on the bandhwari website, claim that WTE plants have been shown to have environmental disasters and are not sustainable scientifically throughout India.
Burning waste will produce toxic and strong residual waste where other sanitation landfill sites will be needed, they claim.
Instead, they suggest that waste is handled in public housing or the level of the city’s own environment.
However, it is important to note that the rejection by the public does not mean that the plan to expand the capacity of the proposed WTE at the TPA Bandhwari location has been suspended at all.
In addition, the Environmental Permission to regulate waste factories to 15MW energy in bandhwari is given in November 2019.
Officials say the meeting process will be sent to the Union Minister of Environment, forests and climate change as part of the process.
“We managed to conduct public hearing on Tuesday under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner Gurgaon.
Minutes of Meetings will now be sent to the Ministry,” said Kuldeep Singh, regional officers, state pollution control council Haryana.
Ruchika Sethi Takkar, founder of citizens for clean air, said that the Wte plants inside and around the city would become environmental disasters for Gurgaon and Faridabad.
“We have studied data from 60 housing communities in Gurgaon, which produces 18,000 kg of wet waste every day.
This waste contains 70-80% water vapor and transported every day to bandhwari.
This is a truly unscientific way to deal with waste.
“” Gurgaon and Faridabad residents were forced to breathe bad air for at least 200 days a year.
And once we start burning or burning this waste, we will not be able to remove PM2.5 from the air, “he added.
The population demands that the waste of all 35 wards in the city are treated with bio-methation, compost and dried waste recycling, so there is no financial and environmental burden.
Environmental activist Vaishali Rana Chandra also questioned the needs of the WTE factory.
“The WTE factory is being established in Sonīpat, why can’t this waste be sent to the SONIPAT factory?” Neelam Ahluwalia from Aravali Group Bachao Citizen, said, “Bandhwari is a critical water refill zone in accordance with the authority of the central ground water.
How does such a poisonous industries appear in a critical water refill zone?” In public hearing, the residents of Bandhwari Village also stated their concerns.
“There is an increase in the number of cases of cancer in our village.
Our children are born with physical disabilities and we suffer without stopping.
We reaffirm that we do not want this waste plant,” said Raj Kumar, a resident.
Deputy Commissioner Gurgaon Yash Garg, “When you apply for Environmental Permits through Moefcc, the Ministry of Public Audience.
The pollution council will now compile the minutes of the meeting and send it to the Ministry for further action Handle city waste efficiently.
“All accusations level up in ecogreen are unfounded,” said Sanjay Sharma, Deputy CEO, Ecogreen.
