Residents to hold silent protests to save the ajni van today

Nagpur: Residents will come together once again to protest the destruction of large-scale Green Covers, but this time by means of Gandhian.
On Sunday morning, people from different roads will observe silent protests on pedestrian streets, civil lines, to oppose the logging proposed by more than 40,000 old trees at the Ajni van.

In recalling his extraordinary freedom struggle, we will attract the attention of people and authorities to environmental conservation and climate crisis, but through silent but strong protests.
We will stand up, dress up, ask the government to Stopping unnecessary tree logging on behalf of development, “said Environmental Activist Kunal Mourya.
As reported by TOI, more than 40,000 trees were proposed to be cut in fertile green soil in the Ajni for the Inter-Capital Station (IMS) and other commercial projects.
According to officials, the problem of the Ajni van is now in the hands of the state tree authorities, in accordance with the protection and preservation of Maharashtra trees (urban areas) which were changed, in 1975.
Changed actions have tightened the rules for tree logging for work construction, identifying trees aged 50 Years as inheritance and increase the number of compensation plantations.
Thousands of objection letters have been submitted against the logging of trees in the Ajni with the Department of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC).
However, civil society officials say that public hearings will not occur here because they are in accordance with new norms, this case will be directed to the country.
