Coimbatore: Local Unit of the Tamil Nadu Government Employee Association (TNGEA) issued a statement on Saturday condemning former Minister of SP Velumani and Aiadmk MLA because he did not respect the coimbatore collector while receiving a petition from them.
GS Sameran Collector continued to sit in the chair while receiving a petition for more Covid-19 vaccines for Coimbatore from Aiadmk MLAS led by Velumani and former Vice Vice Speaker Pollachi V Jayaraman two days ago.
MLA demands that collectors rise from the chair to receive the petition.
After a video of viral events on social media, the DMK functionaries submitted complaints against Velumani and other MLA AIDMK, looking for actions against them because they did not respect the collector.
Paulraj’s district president issued a statement on Saturday, who said that MLA AIADMK was used by harsh words against collectors.
“Their behavior is unacceptable and we condemn them.
They must understand that respect is obtained, not given.
District administration must submit police complaints against MLA,” said Paulraj.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Food and Civil Equipment R Sakkapani, who was in Coimbatore on Saturday, refused to comment on this problem.
