New Delhi: Olympic gold medal Tokyo Neeraj Chopra on Wednesday said that he was honored to be elected for the prestigious Dhyan Chand Ratna award.
“Very honored to be awarded Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna next to several Hind’s sportsmen,” Tweeted Neeraj Chopra.
Earlier this year, Neeraj Chopra had pocketed a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics and Thravelin Thrower brought the first medal at Athletics on the Mega event.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs on Tuesday announced a list for National Sports Award 2021.
The recipient of the award will receive their award from the President of India in a specially organized function in Darbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan on November 13.
The main award for Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna will be given to 12 sportsmen including the Neeraj Chopra (athletics), Ravi Kumar (Wrestling), Lovlina Borghain (Boxing), Sreejesh PR (Hockey), Avani Lekhara (paragraph), Antil Sumit (para-athletics), Pramod Bhagat (Badminton), Krishna Nagar (Badminton), Manish Narwal (Severe Shooting), Mithali Raj (Cricket), Sunil Chhetri (Football), and Manpreet Singh (Hockey).
All Indian hockey hockey teams that have won a historic bronze medal in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics have been awarded Arjun’s award with the exception of PR Sreejesh and Manpreet Singh.
A Complete List of Athletes who Will Receive Arjuna Awards are Arpinder Singh, Simranjit Kaur, Shikhar Dhawan, Bhavani Devi, Monika, Vandana Katariya, Sandeep Narwal, Hiwal Uttam Puriab, Abhishek Verma, Ankita Raina, Deepep Singh, Harman Preet, Deppreet, Harman Preet Singh , Rupinder pal singh, kumar surender, amitrohida, birendra lakra, sumit, nilakanta sharma, hardik singh, vivek sagar prasad, gurjant singh, shamsher singh, lalit kumar upadhyay, varun kumar, simranjeet singh, yogesh kathuniya, nishad kumar, nishad kumar, Praveen Kumar, Suhashyathiraj, Singhraj Adhana, Bhavina Patel, Harvinder Singh, and Sharad Kumar.
Dronacharya Award in the lifetime category goes to T.
P.
Ouceph, Sarkar Talwar, Sarpal Singh, Ashan Kumar, and Tapan Kumar Panigrahi.
The Dronacharya award in the regular category was given to Radhakrishnan Nair P, Sandhya Gurung, Pritam Siwach, Jai Prakash Naurial, and Raman Subramanian.
Dhyan Chand Award for the achievement of a lifetime goes to Lekha KC, Abhijeet Kunte, Davinder Singh Garcha, Vikas Kumar, and Sajjan Singh.
Punjab University (Chandigarh) will receive the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad trophy (Mada) for 2021.
