Pune: Restrictions may be reduced and people roam more but some restaurants and restaurants limit their operations in the middle of the struggle to remain even as the fear of the third wave of Loom Covid-19.
A restaurant in Kohwa, which opened for home delivery after the sidewalk subsided, started dinner last week but with only two tables.
The restaurant manager said even though there was room for at least 10 tables, there was a problem of the staff crisis.
“At least 40% of our staff don’t return.
We continue with takeaways and set tables only if the customer wants to eat at the restaurant,” the manager said.
Other restaurants, famous for kebabs and grilled food, have begun to be limited.
“Many people don’t eat, except on weekends.
The lack of staff remained.
We slowly start with dinner which but entered all the weapons that led because we could not handle more losses,” the owner said.
Nearly 2,000 out of a total of 8,000 restaurants in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad have not opened or closed permanently, saying people in the restaurant industry.
With limitations such as a capacity of 50% and 10pm closing time, senior Pune and Homations (Prague) officials said that 15% of the 6,000 restaurants were left, 900 restaurants had not started a dining facilities.
“The following state government must extend the restaurant timing and allow operations at a 100% capacity,” said President Presenta Ganesh Shetty.
“The business does not improve and was given the sidewalk and heavy losses suffered since March 2020, many restaurants have not been able to start dinner and operate with takeaways,” he said.
“By talking about the third wave, worries are increasing,” Shetty said.
A sizzler restaurant in Koregaon Park is reopened after the second wave.
“We are unable to pay rent.
There is no point in doing business like this.
I neck in debt,” the owner said.
Shetty said that restaurants need more government assistance.
“The government must provide exemptions from paying property taxes for the duration that the outlet is closed.
If the other waves hit and everything close again, 2,000-3,000 other restaurants will be permanently closed,” he said.
The owner of the café at Camp said he had thought about starting eating for a month but in vain.
“This will mean hiring new staff because my previous employee never returns despite repetitive requests.
What if I employ again and everything is closed?” He said.
