VaNkozhi (Turkey) Biryani is one of the special dishes prepared by restaurants in the city, especially for Diwali.
While some restaurants have received advanced orders in harmony with their production capacity, some are preparing to fulfill extraordinary demand.
Apart from new crackers and clothing, diwali is synonymous with delicious meat dishes prepared either on the festival day or the day after.
While the goat and chicken biryanis are ordinary variants, Trichy has a tradition of offering Turkish Biryani for the festival.
Families who prefer to enjoy the day without spending time in the kitchen and entrepreneurs who provide prizes diwali to their employees are people who mostly place orders.
“Business and requests have improved this celebration season, even matching the pre-covid trends.
We have completed our bookings, but the questions continue and we plan to accept it too,” K M S Hakkim, owner, KMS Hakkim Kalyana Biriyani, told toi.
Hotels said people chose Turkish Biryani as an alternative to Biriyani chicken even though the price was more expensive.
Also, people are interested in ordering Biryani made of samba rice as a basmati variety that is slightly larger than its size.
Mourning demand, seasonal biryani outlets have appeared on the streets of commercial city.
According to this entrepreneur, there are around 10% -20% increase in the number of biryani outlets.
Some choose homemade biryani by cooking in large quantities based on orders in their home kitchen and giving through a food aggregator.
“We have relaxed our price of 5% as part of a lively offer.
Free house delivery within 3 km of our outlet is also available, the demand is increasing because people are eager to spend in the middle of a pandemic,” V Okanna, partner, said Al Munnas Biriyani.
As a compliment, the restaurant offers candy for those who order bulk orders.
