‘Restore strength, water in a flood-stricken area’

Mumbai: Chairman of Maharashtra Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Monday dreams of administration to restore electricity and water supply in the area closest to the state of flooding when the country slowly arises from large destruction and flooding.
Thackeray said the flood warning system would be in the coastal region, with severely beaten by landslides and heavy rain for the past few days, in three months.
He asked the state administration to take road repair work and bridges that were damaged by the flooding of war foothills so that they could be reopened for traffic, said a statement issued by the Ministry’s Head Office (CMO) here.
Thackeray said cleanliness and cleanliness must be maintained in an affected area to ensure there is no dissemination of disease.
He spoke at a review meeting called here to take stock situations arising from floods and heavy rain, and the level of damage caused by several parts of Maharashtra, especially in the part of the state of Conkan and West.
In the meeting, officials informed that a total of 290 roads needed to be taken for improvement.
Vehicle traffic has been closed on 469 roads, while 800 bridges have been damaged.
A total of 14,737 electrical transformers have been damaged.
Of the 9.59 affected consumer lakh power, 6.5 lakh consumers have regained electricity in their homes and buildings, the statement said.
A total of 17 villages in Ratnagiri and 20 villages in Sindhdurg, both of them in Konkan, were supplied by drinking water by tankers, he said.
The water supply scheme in 746 villages has been influenced in the flood.
Thackeray is looking for comprehensive details of the level of damage and financial assistance needed, said the statement.
He said the protection wall of flooding and strengthening infrastructure in a hilly field also needed to be done.
The minister’s chairman suggested mobilizing drones to do “Panchnamas” (damage survey), the release said.
He asked officials to work on strengthening the power of the state disaster response and ensuring the rehabilitation of the villages hit by the earliest landslide, he said.
So far, 164 people have died and 56 injured in the incident related to rain, including landslides in Maharashtra, while the other 100 was still missing, the government said in a statement that day.
As many as 2,29,074 people have been evacuated from areas affected by flooding and exposed to rain and move to safer places until now, he said.
