Thiruvananthapuram: After an increase in Omicron cases in the state, the government has decided to impose restrictions in places where mass meetings occur.
At a public meeting in a closed room, only 75 people will be permitted.
In the open area, a maximum of 150 people will be permitted.
This will apply to marriage, public meetings, prayer functions, cultural programs and all other functions.
The decision was taken at a meeting review of the Covid-19 situation chaired by the Head of Pinarayani Minister Vijayan.
He also emphasized the need to test everyone who reached the airport from various countries.
Because more cases of omicrons in the state have been reported from people from low-risk countries, the head of the minister asked to increase the number of samples of genome sequencing among these groups.
The minister’s chairman urges the department concerned to complete the formality in channeling compensation stated for Covid death.
He also urged to remove all the delayed attraction to confirm Covid’s death.
With those who come from foreign countries and test negatives at Karantininng airport in their homes, the minister’s head asks the department to ensure they strictly follow the quarantine guidelines.
Covid case enhances the country reported 3,640 positive cases of 71,120 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
Among new cases detected 3,139 people have taken vaccinations and 1013 people who have been tested positively that day have not taken a single dose.
However, 1,924 people among new cases are those who have taken both of these doses.
With 30 more deaths that occur in the last few days recorded as Covid deaths and 423 deaths added to the appeal received, total Covid deaths in this country have now become 48,637.
The current total active case is 20,180 of them 10.2% of people received in hospitals or in other treatment centers.
