Keri: The use of organic manure has produced encouraging results for Pelavade farmers who have accused tubers and other plants.
Pelavade, a hamlet bordering Ghhayeli and Ravan in Sattari Taluka, known as agricultural and horticulture plants.
During the rainy season, farmers foster various bulbs.
Over the past two years, Dasharath Morajkar, a local farmer, chose to grow bulbs using organic fertilizer.
For a long time, farmers in Sattari will get healthy bubin results using organic fertilizer.
However, many of them turned to synthetic fertilizers and pesticides in an effort to improve crop yields.
Although this increases the yields in some cases, it is also a fertility of soil affected.
“I read the literature about organic farming and learned the process through practical experience.
A mixture of cow dung, beef urine, jaggery and dal flour used in rotting biodegradable material which is then used for seeds.
This organic manure helps improve the results and maintain the health of the plant as a whole,” Morajkar explained to TOI.
Morajkar planted a mixed plant consisting of Kato, Kangyo, Karande, Cheeni, along with ginger and turmeric.
The pattern of mixed bulbs cultivation helps him protect harvests from wildlife to some extent.
