Mangaluru: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) held a protest at the Mangaluru Central train station on Saturday, and urged the train ministry to continue Kannur-Mangaluru trains, to help students study in the city.
The train was stopped after the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, and was never continued.
Kerala students who learn at the Karnataka Education Center mostly depend on train services, which are economical and comfortable.
College has been continued, but not a train service, and therefore students must depend on the bus by spending around Rs 150 per day.
Since traveling by expensive buses, many only attend classes only 2-3 days a week.
“This is a serious problem that needs to be seen earliest,” said students who protested.
They urge the train to continue service.
