Pune: The retailer from the city has approached the mayor, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and the police to stop actions against shop owners during the weekend.
The body of the retailer said that shop owners in various regions faced action on Sundays, although there were important shops and grocery stores were allowed to operate on weekends until 16:00.
“We accept input from retailers from areas such as Kondhwa, BT Kawde Road, Aundh and Mundhwa about the actions taken.
We have approached the authorities in this matter.
The shopkeeper who has followed the 4pm deadline on all days will continue to do so,” said Sachin Nivangunean from the retail association on Monday.
He said that such actions could cause confusion among traders, the association strives to build better coordination with administration and police.
“Our association member on Monday approached the local police station.
We also discussed this issue with the Mayor of Muralidhar Mohol who has assured us that there are no unnecessary actions that will begin with the shop owner,” Nivake said.
A PMC official said that the team had formed in environmental offices to carry out routine checks on the market.
