Mumbai: A 23-year-old son of a retired police officer Mumbai was arrested for allegedly conspiring with a suicide of a woman who was related to him, on the outskirts of Jogeshwari, police said on Tuesday.
The deceased was the daughter of an official of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
He was found hanging at his residence at Pratap Nagar location on Monday morning.
In a suicide note it was said that he was written, the woman blamed Nikhil Chavan, his girlfriend, for creating a problem in his life, a police officer said.
The police registered firs under Section 306 (suicide reduction) of the Indian Criminal Code (IPC) and arrested the defendant on Monday, he added.
