Vijayawada: Regardless of the low number of worshipers who visited the Venkatesara Temple in Tirumala, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) saw a collection of Hundial Crore Rs 36.02 from worshipers 4.14 lakh in June, 200% more than in May.
According to TTD data, 1.67 lakah worshipers offer their hair in the same month.
During the second wave, Hundel’s income had dropped to the lowest RS 11.95 Crore.
In March this year, only hundial revenues reached Rs 104 Crore.
TTD estimates more income than Rs 1,300 Crore from Hundi offers in 2020-21.
Because of the second wave, estimates dropped to Rs 725 Crore.
With this, the TTD annual budget was revised to Rs 2,553 Crore.
TTD has limited the number of worshipers containing viruses.
According to TTD officials, during the summer, there used to be a big busy life.
Now, because the second wave, the amount is thinning.
Officials said earlier around 50,000 people used to get Darshan at the temple but now the number has dropped to 6,000 per day with officials that allow staff and local worshipers and pay Darshan.
TTD also saw loss of income from other sources such as Laddu Prasadams, Seva tickets, Kalyana Katta, accommodation, etc.
In 2018-19, he received Rs 270 Crore, which was the average 80 lakh Rs a day, through the sale of Laddu Prasadam.
Officials said that because Laddus’s demand had stopped and so was the production.
