Yavatmal: Activists of all Yavatmal District Swamini Darubandi Andolan Samiti have on Friday approached Maharashtra governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari using a request to guide the state government to reverse its determination to lift spirits prohibit out of Chandrapur district.
Samiti convenor Mahesh Pawar criticised the nation for raising the ban, which had been enforced from the BJP-Sena alliance government from April 2015.
“The prohibition at Chandrapur was effected after extreme battle from the samiti activists, especially girls, who had stumbled on foot 135km to stage dharna in Nagpur through the winter semester of the state legislature,” said Pawar.
“Liquor reception succeeded in winning over Chandrapur protector ministry Vijay Wadettiwar, that persuaded the nation cupboard to pass a resolution to raise the ban,” he explained.
In addition, he pointed out that the adverse effects of liquor dependence resulting in rise in suicides, which makes many young women as widows, aside from increasing family disputes and wellness issues etc.
“We’re agitating for spirits ban at Yavatmal district, that today, it appears, is a distant chance,” he stated cautioned of starting a sexual agitation against the authorities.
The government has failed to apply the ban efficiently for which raising the ban is only one alternative, he further added.
