Madurai: Revenue officials in Themil Nadu Tamil Regency have confiscated nine tons of constellation “which are intended to be smuggled into Kerala,” police said.
Based on Tip Off, a team led by Uthamalayapam Revenue Division Officer (RDO) Kausalya searched Malnansalai on Jalan Chinnamaneur-Uthamapalayam on Monday night, police said.
The team found 209 bags of rice rations in remote places.
Based on complaints from Tahsildar Chandrasekan, Civil supply CID conducted an investigation to find out the people who hoarded rice for smuggling.
