Coimbatore: City Police on Thursday arrested officials Akhila Bharatha Hindu Mahasabha for their hatred speech to the Muslim community during protests held near the South Taluk office on October 23.
The protest was held to oppose the demolition of Hindu temples in Bangladesh.
The person who was arrested was identified as the Prasar aka Boxer Prem, 37, from Okkiliariary Street in Coimbatore City.
A police officer said that the Premkumar was the regional president of the Congkan Kongu Party.
“Premkumar and 13 members of the organization gathered on October 23 without previous permission from the police and protested against those who attacked Hindus in Bangladesh.
They also condemned the demolition of Hindu temples in Bangladesh and demanded strict action against them,” Police said from the station Racing course.
