Ludhiana: The Punjab Police Special Task Force (STF) on Thursday claimed to have broken the drug ring after the arrest of international Kabaddi players and detained DSP and other police marks.
The STF source said that the former DSP and an inspector, posted in Jalandhar District for a while, has been detained and the Kabaddi international has been arrested from Karnal in Haryana.
They added that Kabaddi players had a palatric bungalow and many luxury cars.
According to STF officials, the defendant used to supply drugs under police security.
They added that the style has confiscated a luxury vehicle allegedly used to sell drugs from the player’s house and 100 grams of drink powder and cash.
Further sources said that Gurjant Singh from the US, Devinder Singh Canada, the wife of the Kabaddi player and a police officer was among the 12 people mentioned in this case.
They added that two policemen had retained drugs sold by the defendant.
Stf officials also indicate that a rental accountant can be questioned in this case and accusing “Peddler” may have a relationship with influential politicians.
