Jaipur: A recent analysis of the death of 108 Covid from January 18-24, which was carried out by the Ministry of Health, revealed that the death of 65% was between 60+ people, while death 18.5% occurred among those aged under 30.5 , 2% of the 45-year-old group.
People with comorbidity are vulnerable as 80% of people who die have a underlying disease such as diabetes, hypertension, heart and other chronic diseases.
Previously, experts anticipated that the third wave might affect more children but, as expressed in the figures of the Ministry of Health, children in the age group of 0-14 years seem to be the safest age group because only 3.7 percent of the state mortality Reported between them.
Dr.
Ajit Singh, Inspector, Hospital Covid Ruhs is dedicated to say, “Parents are the most vulnerable groups because they report most of the deaths with many of those who are immune to compromise when they are taken to hospital because of comorbidity.
Also, many of them are not vaccinated and less protected against the virus.
“Of the 108 deaths reported from January 18-24, four under 10 years, 14 were under the bracket aged 15-44 years, 20 between 45 and 59 years, 43 aged 60 to 74 years and 27 more than 75 years.
Although the number of deaths during the third covid wave was not as high as in the second wave, still the state had witnessed a marginal surge in Covid’s death.
The doctor has connected most deaths for comorbidity.
“In the current wave, we see Covid cases whose coats and moderate diseases are mainly observed in people with comorbidity or in some parents.
The main difference compared to the second wave of lack of hopitalization despite a large number of people infected,” said Dr.
KK Sharma, a senior consultant and head (pulmonary medicine) at a private hospital.
Even though the country witnessed the current Covid case surge, the number of patients treated in hospital was significantly less than the second wave.
“Last year during the peak of the second wave, almost all Iksus and the bed was occupied in all hospitals.
While there was an increase in people infected with Covid, almost 5-7 percent of patients recognized,” said Dr.
Ankit Bansal, Consultant, Pulmonology and Critical Care at Private hospital.
According to the Ministry of Health, the Omicron variant is now riding a Covid wave across the country.
The doctor said that while the Delta variant attacked the lungs, most cases are now related to the upper respiratory tract which causes symptoms such as cold, coughing, sore throat and fever.
