City: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), City, captured the Excise Ministry Inspector posted in Bundi for allegedly accepting bribes of RS 20,000 from a liquor store contractor on Friday night.
However, his personal driver managed to escape with a number of bribes.
The accusation was produced at the ACB court on Saturday which sent it to three-day detention.
“Excise Inspector, identified as Vinod Kumar Sharma (42), a resident of Srimadhopur Tehsil in Sikar and posted in Bundi, was arrested on Friday night after he allegedly accepted a bribe of RS 20,000 from the composite liquor store contractor,” ASP, ACB, Kota, Chandrasheel Thakur said on Saturday.
Feeling ACB’s presence, the defendant’s inspector handed over the number of bribes to his personal diver identified as Farajuddin, a resident of a shortcut in Bundi, who fled with money, he escaped with money, he added.
The inspector has demanded RS 15,000 bribery from the composite liquor store contractor and Rs 6,000 separately as a monthly bribe that threatened to frame the case of fake shares of illegal liquor in his shop, ASP said.
