Jaipur: Rajasthan farmers worried about the sowing season in the midst of fertilizer diammonium phosphate (DAP).
Throughout Rajasthan, more than 90% of farmers use this fertilizer in their plants but because of this low imports by the central government, there have been acute shortages in the market.
This has increased the prices of available fertilizer bags and cases of many fake kitchen bags sold on the market have been reported.
The government is now trying to introduce alternative SSF fertilizers but according to farmers, it is not as effective.
Hastitimal Rajpurohit, a farmer from Barmer, said that they carried out the pillar to post this year to get fertilizer.
“We have tried everywhere to get DAP but it is not successful.
It’s not available on the market and in many places, the black marketing has begun.
One bag can sell for 1,200 rs now available at Rs 1,900 on the market.
The government has done a little To help, “Rajpurohit said.
Season seasons One plants have been completed but from November 15 to December 15, sowing plants such as Raida, Mustard, Isabgol, Jintan will begin and there are situations such as panic among farmers.
Rajasthan needs 7.5 lakh tons of DAP but only receives 3.5 lakh tons.
President Saudiuti Kisan Union, Dashrath Kumar, said that the SSF was not much effective in plants compared to DAP.
“We hope this problem will be resolved soon.
The amount of SSF used is higher than DAP although economically feasible.
We are in talks with the government to start importing more DAP to help farmers,” he said.
But for Mustard plants, experts believe that SSF is useful.
Director of the Mustard Research Institute in Bharatpur, PK Rai said that in the SSF, there was a presence of sulfur and calcium, which was not in DAP.
“We have told this to every farmer who came into contact with us that for mustard plants, SSF is better even economically.
Farmers must want to change,” Rai said.
