Jaisalmer: A 24-year-old woman, allegedly annoyed at a dispute at home, threw her two-year-old son into the water tank and then also jumped into it in Deearh Village in the Chauhatan police station area in Barmer District on Monday.
After getting information, the police reached the place and took out the bodies and handed it to the family after postmortem.
The woman was married four years ago.
Died-in-law’s father who died, lawram, told the police the woman jumped to the tank to save his son who was falling there.
Barmer SP Anand Sharma said the Chauhatan police received information that Sugani Devi (24), Bhopa Ram’s wife, threw her two-year-old son into a tank and he entered Deearh Village.
He said it was found that the couple fought on Monday, which could be a suicide reason.
Hukmaram said Sugani’s husband, mother-in-law and brother-in-law had gone to the field and he went to another place when the accident occurred.
The child must have fallen into the tank and saved him, he jumped too, he told the police.
