Mumbai: Central Railway and Western Railway plans to cover up all their workers in the Mumbai division with the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine before August 15, provided there is adequate stock.
When the vaccination program began, several railroad departments were categorized as frontline staff, including health workers, train protection forces (RPF) and the Commercial Department.
CR Mumbai ‘Division Railway Manager (DRM) Shalab Goel said, “We are on track to give a dose to our workforce around independence day.
We have given the first dose for all those who are willing to be 45 years and above.” In the Division Mumbai , there are 32,574 employees, which almost 68% have received the first dose.
But the vaccination program also includes family staff members.
In the age group 45 and above, 97% of 12,017 employees have been given the first dose.
In the age group 18-44, almost 50% of 20,557 had received the first dose in the Mumbai Cr division.
Chief Relations Public Relations CR Shivaji Sutar said, “A total of 22,195 staff had provided a dose in Mumbai; 7,403 has received a second dose.” Cr has a vaccination center in 10 locations, including Kurla, Matunga, CSMT, Parel and Thane.
WR has given the first dose to 60% of the Mumbai division staff.
Public relations officers WR Sumit Thakur said about 20,430 employees, 12,342 had received the first dose.
Nearly 86% of employees over 45 received the first dose.
