Mumbai: The Malik Railway Olympic Hockey player and Vandana Katariya will receive a prestigious Arjuna award over a very good performance during the Olympic match which has just been held in Tokyo, Japan, a senior official in Mumbai which was announced on Wednesday.
Malik, who previously worked as TC head, the Mumbai division from Central Railway was recently promoted as an officer about special tasks.
“He is part of the Indian women’s hockey team playing extraordinary in Tokyo Olympic 2020 to secure a place in the semi-finals,” said an official.
He made the appearance of the second consecutive Olympics after Rio Olympics 2016.
Katariya, who previously worked as TC head, the Mumbai division of Cr and recently promoted as officers about special tasks.
“He is part of the Indian Women’s Hockey team who has a difference in the only woman who scored a hat-trick in the field of hockey in every Olympic match,” said an official, added, “Katariya quickly scored a hat-trick in the match against South Africa.
His contribution as a nimble player played a role in taking India to the semi-finals.
“Four female hockey players from CR, the others were Sushila Chanu and Rajini etimarpu, representing India at the Tokyo Olympics.
All of these players have been promoted as officers charged.
