Rly Passengers Escape Covid-19 Monitoring in Chennai

Chennai: The state government may have announced that passengers from Kerala are filtered for negative RT-PCR reports or vaccine certificates on arrival at Tamil Nadu.
But screening remains porous in Chennai Egmore and Chennai central train station.
It seems like playback of travelers is different from one transportation mode to another.
The leaflets were checked for a vaccine or RT-PCR certificate when they were out of flight while those who came through roads were checked for newspapers at the checkpoint.
But, it’s easier to skip screening at the train station even though one train carries almost 800 to 1,000 passengers.
Passengers who reached the Eggore train station on the morning train from Kollam were not checked on Thursday.
People walked out through three station entrances without being stopped.
Although the kiosk was installed and the staff was deployed by Chennai Corporation in Central since August 5, the staff did not have all the passengers or check tickets to find out their origins that came with seven trains from neighboring countries where the Covid case touched 30,000 days.
.
Passengers are not separated and tickets are not checked to find from where they rise.
Staff were collected from 1, 307 passengers since August 5 where six changed positively.
Samples should be collected from those who do not carry RT-PCR negative test reports.
Sasi M, a passenger, who arrived on August 23 by the Mangalore-Chennai train at 8pm, said that serious efforts to filter lost passengers.
“We have a vaccine certificate but my child only takes one dose.
But nothing stops us.
It would be better if the train was told to check.
Tick ticket checker can check the vaccine certificate when they check the train ticket.” Dr.
P Kuganantham Former Health Officer The city said, “People come from areas where there is high infection must be filtered correctly and found positively must be quarantined.” The genome sequencing must also be done to find out if they have a newer strain.
“A corporate official said,” We have collected samples so far from 1,307 passengers arriving from Kerala six positive.
Follow-up was carried out with three cases in the Royapuram zone traced to arrival from Kerala.
“The numbers are low because a lot goes down in Avadi and several other enroute stations, he added.” Random check by the cellular team was carried out for those who came in Egmore because most of the routes were in TN.
There is no positive case from this playback, “he said.
