RMC adopts new technology to track civil violations

Ranchi: Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) has equipped its enforcement cells with advanced communication devices and point-of-sale (post) machines to track violations of citizenship and encroachment throughout the city in real time and punish the offenders.
This step, which is part of the Civic body technology improvement program, is intended to ensure better coordination between members of the enforcement cells and senior officials.
As many as 60 sets of walkies and 17 post machines were handed over to the enforcement cell officials by the Mayor of Asha Lakra and Commissioner of the City of Mukesh Kumar.
Talking to Tii, Kumar said: “This step will increase the confidence of our enforcement officials and bring transparency in punishing violators.
The main focus will occur in violations related to unauthorized waste and construction management.” He added that the device would also help inside Coordination among companies that are different from the help of communication devices while they will also be able to collect fines in spots through postal machines in cases related to unauthorized construction and encroachment on the road.

Deputy Commissioner of Kota Rajnish Kumar said, “This will help in creating communication channels among all teams, including senior officials who take care of cells.
In addition, the radio communication set will help in mobilizing teams in certain areas as needed during our special drives.” Previously , the enforcement team is used to issue paper receipts to violators and create manual entries in their list to save notes.
Now with a post machine, digital notes will be available with dates, time and location.
“This digital record will prevent violators to reject the old sentence,” Rajnish added.
Lakra said that technological advancements were for residents and asked officials not to use them to harass them.
“Officials must always remember that if there are some small violations, it must be resolved peacefully by remembering the law.
Punishing residents for every small thing is not the solution,” he added.
