Ranchi: Deputy Mayor of Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC), Sanjeev Vijaywarigiya, on Monday urged the state government to restore his decision to release roadside vendors from the land of Morhabadi ‘as the shops there were the only source of their livelihoods.
After a shootout at Morhabadi on January 27 where one person was killed and two injured, the government had issued a coating command around the area that prohibited several activities, including collecting five or more people from roadside shops.
The area where the incident took place was a few meters from the old place to stay JMM Shibu Soren and walking distance from the residence of Ranchi DC and SSP.
The government’s decision to close the business is filled with resistance by vendors who protest order and demand that the authorities restore direction.
“Vendors live in fear because the authoritative steps taken by the government and in the last three days, around 300 vendors have become unemployed after administrative decisions to close the store.
Shops are the only source of their livelihood,” Vijaywargiya said while talk to media people here.
Vendors have been suspected of being given 72 hours to issue their kiosks from the land of Morhabadi.
“This vendor was forced to stop their daily income.
Because of the shooting incident,” Vijaywarmiya, added, “These vendors have received working capital of Rs 10,000 under traders Iron Feet Pradhan Mantri ‘Atmanirbhar Nidhi During 2020 because their livelihood was affected because the Covid-induced lowdown was later.
Now interest in the loan piled up and in such circumstances if the store remains closed, then how vendors can pay the loan amount.
