RMC standing committee junks high parking fee proposal

Rajkot: The fixed committee of Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) has canceled the Civic region plan to collect higher parking fees in the premium region as proposed in the new parking policy.
On Wednesday, the committee cleared a new policy without significant changes, which could help alleviate parking misery that the city was struggling.
The proposed traffic policy empowers civilian bodies to collect higher parking fees in premium areas.
There is a proposal to collect parking charges for vehicles parked outside the housing and commercial communities and provide strength to RMC to attract vehicles.
However, the ruling party rejects all this administrative wing proposal.
New policies approved by the committee have still made provisions to collect allegations of parking at certain salaries and park locations at the general level throughout the city.
The committee expressed the view that parking fees were not intended to get income for RMC.
The committee also argues that throughout the world, the local body conducts traffic management coordinating with traffic police.
The committee felt that a new proposal would result in administrative ambiguity and the police would manage traffic and towers parked in un-appointed areas.
RMC will not take direct action or collect fine for the same thing.
The Civic body will ask a separate parking area for autorickshaw, taxis and four wheels coordinate with the police.
