Rajkot: German ambassador to India, Walter J Linder reached Bhavnagar on a two-day visit to the district.
He came to Ghogha beach at Ferry Ro Ro from a letter on Friday and was welcomed by Bhavnagar Collector Yogesh Nirgude.
Linder visited the Ship-Breaking Yard Alang on Friday and will visit Palitana Jain Temple on Saturday.
After reaching Ghogha, Linder said, “Ro Ro’s ferry trip will be an unforgettable journey for me.” He was accompanied by other officers from the German Consulate of New Delhi and Mumbai.
Linder Visits Priya Blue Industries Private Limited and Lila Recycling Private Limited at Alang Ship-Breaking Yard, the last destination retired ship and get detailed demolition activities.
Linder also interacts with several workers there.
He interacted with the owner of the unit on the ship solving page and knew about how they bought a ship, how much time needed to dismantle one, hospital facilities for their workers, insurance protection among more information.
