Kolhapur: Panhala Public Works Department (PWD) on Tuesday informed that the settlement of road repairs to work in Fort Panhala would take two months.
Because landslides and streets of roads have been damaged earlier this year in August.
The road is currently beyond the limit for two wheels because repair work is carried out by geo-grade technology.
Amol Koli, Panhala PWD, said, “Repair work will need around Rs 5 Crore.
Previously, to avoid discomfort for the local residents, two wheels were allowed to travel through the remaining roads.
However, tourists and other officials also began to demand for travel through this patch.
Four days ago, a local was injured after falling into the trench along with his two wheels.
Therefore, we have decided to ban two wheels on this road.
People can use alternative roads made through the Rede Area Ghati to reach the Panhala fortress.
“Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Shiv Sena held a protest outside the Panhala Tehsil office which stated that the alternative route through Rede Ghati had been built poorly and caused discomfort for local residents and tourists.
