Nagpur: state and national highway, especially Hingna Road, Wardha Road, Bhandara Road and Jabalpur Road have witnessed the number of high-road accidents in 2021.
During the meeting, the Parliament Road Safety Committee on Thursday expressed concern for the resurrection in the course and urged authority The road, especially the NHAI and the PWD state, to coordinate with each other and take short and long-term steps, said President Panel and MP City Nitin Gadkari.
Gadkari directs all departments related to roads and agents to make efforts to reduce the number of accidents in the district, death and the amount injured in an accident, stated the press record issued by the regional transportation office (Nagpur City).
Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar explained how to reduce the number of accidents by coordinating with all agencies related to the road – NMC, PWD of the State, India National Highway Authority (NHAI), Police Department, Regional Transportation Department and Zilla Parishad – regarding the reduction in accidents and deaths.
Non-functional traffic signal problems and lack of zebra intersections are also discussed in meetings.
It was stated that NMC failed to reduce encroachment on the road, which had increased doubled.
Even roadside parking and on road vehicles across the city have slowed significantly moving traffic, observed.
Not only buses, even trucks, parked bravely on the road, which are marked as one of the reasons of the accident.
The panel also directs the agency concerned, including NMC and traffic police, to improve the traffic situation in the city by taking corrective steps.
Rajya Sabha MP Dr.
Vikas Mahathme, Mlaas Tekchand Sawarkar and Vikas Kumbhare, and R Vimla District collector are among those present at the meeting.
