Nagpur: Hotmix Department Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) claims to have fixed 5,465 holes in eight months in the city.
But a relaxing drive throughout the city will show the claim claims is wrong.
Someone comes across the sad condition of the road, full of holes and craters, the top layer tore Jalan Tar, and the driver being punished at every corner.
The bad condition of the road seems to amounts to the humiliation of the high court by various government institutions including NMC, NHAI, PWD and NIT, because it fails to ensure city roads remain free of holes.
The road scars are seen across the city, including many important intersections such as Mohammed Rafi Square (in front of the High Court), Law Coure Square, and Ladies Club Square, among others.
Toi recently reported that 2313.65km road, around 1,491.19 km Jalan Tar has developed a fully worn outline or surface due to non-maintenance.
The official Officer of the Hotmix NMC department claims that the road conditions of the road owned by NMC are not as bad as claimed.
The streets are owned and managed by other agents such as PWD, NHAI and Nagpur (NIT) repairs in bad conditions, they said.
“Because of their negligent attitude, Civic’s body faced criticism,” the official said.
The highest number of complaints attended by NMC was in the Ashi Nagar zone, where the Hotmix Department claimed to have fixed 908 holes, followed by Laxmi Nagar Zone (900), Mangalwari zone (773).
Although NMC claims to have attended complaints relating to the hole by repairing them within 48 hours, motorists from all cities say that the mechanism for repairing holes adopted by the civic body is very bad.
Chandrapal Thakur, a resident of Zingabai Takli, shows that NMC recently repaired holes in their territory.
“Because the bad work failed to resist the movement of vehicles that were even medium, and the road was again damaged by a larger size hole,” he said.
Similar is a complaint of residents of other regions in the city.
Corporator Senior Congress Pressur Gudadhe criticized NMC for a pathetic road condition in the whole city.
“If the road under Laxmi Nagar Zone is in a bad condition, which gives two mayors and chairman of the panel stand, then someone can measure what might be other road conditions throughout the city,” Gudadhe said.
The owner of the car workshop also claimed that the maintenance of vehicle bills because the roads in the city had increased.
“There is an increase in the number of vehicles that need repairs after being damaged by poor roads,” said Ravi Pare, a car company workshop manager.
