Noida: Sector 51 residents have demanded the recovery of parks and green belts in their area after the Noida Authority allowed construction materials to the planned IKEA plan to be transported through the children’s park.
This area is categorized as a green zone in the Plan Master Noida and citizens fear that it will not be developed as a green filling after the construction of the store ends.
“We have written a letter to the CEO of the Noida Authority Ritu Maheshwari who expressed our objections when it comes to giving access to children’s parks in the 51 sector to IKEA.
We also have mentioned that before, parts of the garden land have been given to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation ( DMRC) for the construction of the Sector 52 Metro station, without telling the local population or seeking approval.
When we had protested at the time, we were told it was a temporary setting and once the work was finished, the land would be developed as a park.
The station has been built but the green area Lost, “said Sanjeev Kumar, Secretary General of Rwa, Sector 51.
He added that green patch near Sector 71 was previously handed over to Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) to build a pillar for the Metro corridor.
“But even after four years, Blok E green belt has not been restored.
Materials and construction materials are still lying in the area,” he said.
Kumar said there were three green belts and two parks in Blok D, E and F sector 51.
“In all of these green areas, there is encroachment.
Now, we will be forced to go to court if the authority continues to reduce the green area on behalf of development,” Kumar added , Asked about the condition of the children’s park in Sector 51, officers about special tasks, noida authorities, Kumar Sanjai, said it was a temporary arrangement and once the IKEA construction work was completed, the area would turn into a park.
“We have notified around 50,000 square meters to IKEA for stores and other facilities.
Access through children’s park is a temporary size.
This area will be developed as part of the park as soon as the job is completed,” he said.
